Wollongong holds a special place in Jessica and Luke’s hearts. The lovely couple met as 17-year-olds and clicked straight away. They’ve been regular visitors to the region and one of our beautiful beaches was where Luke popped the question to Jessica with an intimate and special proposal on the beach.
When it came time to choose the perfect location for their wedding and reception, Wollongong was the obvious choice, as was Lagoon with its beachside location, excellent service, and delicious food.
Jessica walked down the aisle to You look beautiful in white by Westlife. Her dress was a fitted Pallas couture gown featuring a gorgeous low back and an overskirt for the ceremony with a long train which she was able to remove for the reception.
After the ceremony, the couple celebrated at Lagoon with 160 guests in the main dining room. The couple wanted everything to be very simple and elegant, so chose a white theme of flowers and greenery. Jess loved that this allowed the beautiful beach view behind the bridal table to stand out.
The couple both love seafood and wanted that to be the hero of the wedding menu. At the start of the reception, guests received a Lagoon Lace cocktail before enjoying Seafood Antipasto Platters with prawns, oysters, Balmain bugs, cured meats, olives and feta. This was followed by pasta with sun-dried tomatoes.
For the main course, guests were served Grilled Barramundi Fillet and Black Angus Eye Fillet. The classic desserts Tiramisu and Creme Brûlée rounded out the meal.
The couple enjoyed their first dance together as a married couple to an acoustic version of Latch by Sam Smith. A special moment for Jess was when Luke, who is not comfortable with public speaking, stood up in front of their loved ones and gave an emotional speech about the couple. It was the couples wish to have everyone up dancing and drinking all night and she was so pleased to see the dance floor was packed all night.
Jessica and Luke jetted off to Hawaii for their honeymoon to soak up some sun and relax together for the first time as a married couple. Congratulations you two, we loved being a part of your special day and wish you the brightest future.
