Elise and Joel’s Simply Elegant Wedding

Do you believe in chance meetings? For Joel and Elise, it was a chance encounter that led to the beginning of their forever.  Joel first saw Elise in a church celebrating two retiring teachers, but it wasn’t until he and a friend walked into the wrong after party that he had the chance to talk to Elise.

The proposal was intimate and personal. In a patch of blue sky, they went for a walk to the place he loves the most and Joel got down on one knee and asked the woman he loves the most to be his wife.

Joel had visited the Lagoon with family 3 months before the proposal and on that day booked the venue. “We both love Wollongong and we both love seafood,” Joel said so it was the perfect location even without a fiance. Married in a nuptial mass at St Mary’s Towers in Douglas Park the bride walked down the aisle to close friends singing ‘Endless Alleluia’ by Corey Asbury.

“We wanted it to be simple and elegant,” Joel said. The couple chose black candelabras with no greenery or flowers and simple white and black linen menus to match their invitations. The bridal table, however, was filled with Australian blue gum and candles which matched the altar at the church.

The couple will celebrate their honeymoon in Gili Air and credit their parents for the success of the wedding as they were simply incredible.

Congratulations Elise and Joel from all of the Lagoon team.
